An attempt at poetry :)

Tide goes out
Drawn by sun
and moon alike
Fresh and salty
Strong and bold
Wind upon my face blows cold
Nature here is so alive
Birds are fighting to survive
Flown from many lands afar
To feast on nets and plastic jars?
Nature here is now alive
Will it carry on and thrive?
If we pollute and do not care
we won’t be seeing birds out there.
Tide comes in
Tide goes out
Our rubbish goes
washed out of sight
Rarely seen
Out to sea
Killing, maiming,
you and me.
Help me clean this lovely place
take home your litter, leave no trace.
This world is borrowed from our children,
make them proud, and not what killed them.
