Ever wanted to insert a connector between two flow chart objects in Word only to find out that they are greyed out and hence unavailable?

Connectors only work within a drawing canvas – if you don’t have this turned on you can go to Tools>Options and tick the box under the General tab to have the drawing canvas show automagically – personally I don’t like it!

To get it to show without doing this go to insert>pictures>new drawing. Make sure the area you want to insert the connector is covered by the canvas, they should now be available from the autoshapes menu (note you can turn off the drawing canvas and you won’t lose your existing connectors.
